Project story
Niles
At Niles, Kerr’s architectural millwork installation and finish carpentry installations carry the classical detailing of a Colonial Revival home into its next chapter. Designed by Staub and Rather, the residence contributes to the Old West Austin National Register Historic District. Its balanced proportions and decorative brickwork provide the architectural setting for detailed work inside and out.
Our scope included door and window installation, crown moulding, baseboard, and door and window casings, alongside a geometric coffered ceiling and custom bar millwork. The intricate radius sunroom window installation combined triple-hung windows with integral gutter cornice work, while a curved copper bay window and Chippendale-style terrace railing extended the detailing to the exterior.
Working with general contractor Dalgleish Construction Company and architect Curtis & Windham, we coordinated these installations across the interior rooms and exterior elevations. Careful alignment, consistent profiles, and fitted transitions carry the home’s classical character through the finished work.
